THE LATEST NEWS!

Thanksgiving Day 2007 - Happy holidays everyone. What I am thankful for? Good friends and good family. I'm so thankful that our family, even though we are all seperated from each other, we are still close to each other. You hear of these dysfunctional families that don't get along, and I am so happy that is not true in our case.

Anyways, I know I've been negecting the site, ok mostly the photos page, but I've been so busy with school and work and all of that, but I've updated the photo page, so there is plenty there for everyone to look at. Hope you enjoy!

October 7, 2007 - On this weekend Barb and I went to San Francisco, where after a dinner we decided to drive over to Treasure Island to witness the view. It was there with the fog rolling in over the city that I asked Barbara to marry me. She said "yes." So now starts our engagement, and the beginning of a lifetime together, may the Lord bless this relationship, and fill the years with love.

September 6, 2007 - Check this out, yea it may be pretty simple looking, and boring, but I created the page solely in code. Yeah, I'm pretty amazed myself.

August 28, 2007 - Look who's the big time student. Since the job market is getting so finickey, I need to up my hire-ability and have decided to return to school to get my B.A. I'm going to be going to University of Phoenix since they offer the most flexibility when it comes to classes. All of my classes will be online, and I'm going to be majoring in Information Technology/Multimedia and Visual Communication, which will keep me in the same field I'm in now, but I'll have a bunch more web knowledge. On top of the CSS I'm learning on my own, I'll be learning about javascripting and XML, plus a bunch of other stuff I already know, but since I don't have that degree, it doesn't count. Anyways, first day of class is August 28th, I've already applied for my student loans, and once I'm in class will be trying to get some scholarships to pay it all off. Wish me luck.

THISHERO.COM

Welcome to my digital world, a branding of sorts, for my freelance design services and personal endeavors. My name is Steve Craig and here in my world you will find 4 sections; 1) Comics - as a independent comic book writer/illustrator, you will find all the info you need on any current comic I am working on, past comics I have web-published, and the on-going work for my masterpiece, YSOV. 2) Steve Craig Design Services, a section for my graphic design services where you can view my portfolio or download my resume. 3) thishero/blog, where I rant about different things, mostly my comics or mountain biking stuff, but other news that I find and 4) a section for photo's, both for family and as a hobby.

STEVE CRAIG - GRAPHIC ARTIST/WEB DESIGNER

If you're here looking for a Graphic Designer, or a Web Designer, you've come to the right place. I've been doing Graphic Design in the Modesto, California area since 1991, working for different print shops, publishers and different in-house Graphic Departments. I've been doing freelance Web Design since 2001, from simple personal web-sites to the more complicated Real Estate and e-commerce sites. The thing I like about web work is that seems like with every job, there is more to learn. Much more. Use the links on the right to visit the design side of this site where you can view my resume and portfolio.

THE COMIC - YSOV

On the personal side, I've been working on a Science Fiction Comic Book/Graphic Novel, for what seems like forever. I've always enjoyed reading comics, but not in the big-time nerdy way. I usually follow a certain artist or writer that catches my fancy, but not necessarily a certain character. Right now I'm really enjoying Tim Sale's work, but anyway, my comic is here, in limited form. I have some character bio's, backstory, and some sketches plus I've recently added the first draft of the story itself, take a look at it if you can.

PHOTOS, PHOTOS, AND MORE PHOTOS

And of course I have photos. Photos for family and friends of everyday life. Photos of subjects that I just found interesting. Photos of mountain biking trips. Like the title says, "photos, photos, and more photos". So if you want to see lot's of pictures click on over to the photo page and go through the different categories and enjoy!

So whether you're here in search of a graphic artist, or looking for some entertainment or maybe just bored, take a look around, and enjoy. Oh, and by the way, "Hi Mom!"

Steve
