8, 2008 - I think it's
the future - the boat was painted blue. Kent
Wood stood on the dock, Memphis was there,
I almost didn't recognize her, she had Shirley
Temple hair. Others stood and watched. She
told me my name was Tom, but that didn't
sound right. I looked puzzled standing on
the boat and questioning, "Tom Violence?"
She would just nod, but no, my name is Mye,
and she would just say, "Mye Violence". And
I raised myself above the boat and with my
mind I pushed it down, and I pushed it down
again, and there was creeking and snapping,
fiberglass cracking. And again I pushed it
down and it started to take on water and
pushed it down again and it went under ready
or not. The people were shocked. I don't
even know if there were any people on the
boat, and Kent Wood, stood on the corner
and yelled to me, "Is that your higher morale
ground?" I looked at Kent Wood and I looked
at Memphis, I didn't have anything to say.
January
2, 2008 -
Kent Wood, he will be the newest member
of YSOV. As I was adding Mye's stories to
the site, "The Fishman Rules" and "9 15 15" I
read those two stories over, and it reminded
me of another characther who largely was dropped
from YSOV. It was the scientist that was
in charge of the whole "Mye" experiment.
Well, as I said, he was largely dropped from
the story, we do see Dr. Fists sending reports
off to somewhere, but that is about it. I've
been thinking that I want to add him back,
not a big part, but to put a face on the
monster and to add a psychological twist
to it as well. So what character was a reminded
of? Who could this monster be? The Red Truck
Man of course. Anyways, I don't think I could
get away with just calling him "The Red Truck
Man" so I've recently come up with the name
of "Kent Wood", it fits perfectly into
my little nightmare that I've created.
Does the name have any significance? If
you know me, you will know this.

December
20, 2007 - Started sketching on an image of
Dr. Fists, then it led to another, so now I
sort of have this panel, it's in pieces, but
it does give you a short timeline.

December
5, 2007 - "The numbers, they dance for me..." One
of my favorite parts of the story, the long
night on the bridge, where Mye takes the
turn from us to them, he'll now start down
the long road to who he will become, by changing
the course of the ship, and going where he
needs to go, to have the experiements that
were started on him finished.
December
3, 2007 - I'm sure some of you have noticed my
newest banner honoring YSOV. It's about time
it had a more permanent place amongst the site.
I will add the original sketch to the sketch
page soon. I also have another new sketch here
for everyone. With more on the way. This is
a sketch of Memphis and Morrison recovering
Mye from the planet. There is also a Falcon
in the background still in search mode. Enjoy!
November
27, 2007 - Back in
the saddle again, been doing some sketching,
helps free up the mind from school work. Anyways,
here's a sketch of Memphis in pursuit, with
the added bonus: I colored it!

September
4, 2007 - Had some spare time today, and was
thinking about the docking bay on the Magellan
and what it would look like. Well as I started
sketching the Falcon's, I got kinda stuck,
I wasn't happy with what I had done last time,
and knew that I wanted to re-design them so
I came up with this...

side view and a top view, I have three inports, and the two thrust ports. I wanted to make it somewhat but looking, big 'ole bug eyes up front, and thought of making the wings more like a bug, instead of the fixed wings that I had before. There are four wings, a pair on top of each other on each side. There is also a docking port on the top, so that it would hang inside the Magellan vs. sitting on some sort of landing gear. Yeah, I like where this is going.

Everyone
has a story to tell, you know, the "Great
American Novel" well,
so do I. It'll probably never live up to
that kind of hype, but it is story (o.k.
I notice I keep using the term "story",
but it's really a comic book/graphic novel)
I've been working on for many years. It
goes back to my college days, lot's of
Star Trek and Phillip K. Dick novels, and
a lot of college imagination. It started
really rough, very surreal, and slowly
over the years has evolved into the bits
and pieces you see here.
My friend Jeff and I really started working
on it back in '95. We really started developing
the story, giving it a beginning, middle and
end. We also started do more sketches on the
characters and ships. Unfortunately, we kinda
slowed down on it and eventually stopped working
on it altogether.
Since then, I've picked it up every now and
then and worked on it for a couple of days
here and there until recently. I've always
thought it would be cool if the internet community
could have an input, and maybe we could get
this story finished once and for all. Of course
if I gave it out to the internet, it would
stop being my story, and I never really cared
for that. So I guess I decided, that I would
post it, and let it be read by anyone who could
find it, and then we'll go from there.
As for now, I guess the dream is that I will
finish writing this comic/graphic novel, and
find someone (Ian) to illustrate it for me.
I probably will never rest until it is finished.
So if you have any thoughts, questions or
ideas, let me know, I'll be glad to hear any
comments you might have.
